Welcome to Morrison Community High School

Honors Night 2013 Morrison High School

Presentation from the parent meeting about State Report Cards

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year. Morrison High School has an outstanding
tradition of excellence in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the arts and this
school year looks to continue that trend.

Morrison High School offers a rigorous curriculum that strives to engage and
challenge all of our students with a variety of programs including: AP courses, a fine
arts program, technology, vocational and CTE courses, on-line courses and much
more. This year we are excited to add AP US History to our curriculum and look
forward to adding more rigorous courses in the future.

Last year we were able to introduce several iPad labs into our classes. This year
we are continuing our technology initiative with a “Bring Your Own Device”
program, which encourages students and teachers to use their own technology as an
instructional tool. We feel fortunate to be able to give our staff and student access
to these instructional tools and fully believe that this is one of the many things that
make Morrison High School one of the best schools in the state.

Out of the classroom Morrison High School offers a wide variety of extracurricular programs. As members of the Big Rivers Football and TRAC 8 conferences, the Mustangs and Fillies annually compete for conference championships in all offered
sports. With three state championships trophies over the last three years and a string of 11 consecutive IDTA Dance team state championships, the Mustangs and Fillies have emerged as an athletic power throughout the state. Once again this year
the Mustangs and Fillies will look to add state hardware to a growing trophy case.

Morrison High School also offers an excellent fine arts program that includes: sculpture, computer graphics, marching band, choir, plays, musicals, and madrigals. Morrison High School annually has multiple students perform in the IMEA festival as
well as several all-state musicians on a yearly basis.

I am extremely excited about what our students will accomplish this year and look forward to being a part of a great faculty and staff. Please remember that my door is always open to students, staff, and parents.

Let’s have a great year and GO MUSTANGS!!!
