The first goal of the MCUSD 6 Caring Closet, started in 2018, is to provide MCUSD 6 students who need them with life necessities so that they may better focus on school and childhood.
The second goal of the Caring Closet is to accomplish the first goal quietly and without fanfare, because everyone deserves to have the items necessary for day-to-day life, especially children.
What does the Caring Closet do?
The Caring Closet, located in the Morrison High School library, stocks, purchases, and distributes items to students of all ages, at all four schools in the district, including, but not limited to:
clothing
food
personal hygiene products
school supplies
The Caring Closet is also currently working on finding a way to provide students in need with personal services including, but not limited to:
laundry services
haircuts
The Caring Closet accepts donations of brand new hygiene items (soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc....) when necessary, but prefers monetary donations, as the majority of items distributed are purchased specifically for individual students (specific clothing and shoe sizes, etc...).
If you have questions, or would like to donate to the MCUSD 6 Caring Closet, please drop off items to Morrison High School any time during business hours, or send monetary donations to:
