Students in Morrison High School’s Driver Education classes learned about the importance of automobile insurance and safe driving during a presentation from Country Financial representatives Michael Briscoe and Christina Wetzell on Thursday, May 19. Mrs. Wetzell, who oversees safety education and marketing for the Michael Briscoe Agency, also discussed the tragic 2019 crash that claimed the life of her 19-year-old daughter, Julia. Mr. Briscoe discussed insurance terminology for consumers, and he walked students through an activity to calculate how much liability insurance a particular driver needs based on his or her assets and earning potential. Thank you, Mr. Briscoe and Mrs. Wetzell, for sharing your insurance knowledge with students!

The tradition at Northside is for 2nd grade students to yell "Yippee Skippy Friday!" at the end of each week. This wonderful group of kids did it for the very last time today. The Northside staff would like to tell parents and guardians how much we will miss this group. Thank you so much for being part of our family and allowing us to be part of yours. We will always love these kids!

Students in Mrs. Mayberry's class were given the task of building a parachute to safely drop their desk pet from the ceiling, without it falling out of the cup. They were given a budget for building materials and were able to test their parachutes out. When the activity was finished, the students had to answer three important questions: 1.) What worked well? 2.) What didn't work well? 3.) What would you do differently?
