Students in Morrison High School’s Driver Education classes learned how to share the road safely with farm equipment in advance of the spring planting season. Jill DeRycke, office manager of Birkey’s Prophetstown location, delivered a PowerPoint presentation and interactive demonstration regarding best practices for driving near tractors, combines, sprayers, and other agricultural equipment throughout the year. Students also received handouts illustrating potential collision scenarios, including passing a tractor that is preparing to make a left turn at a field entrance. Many thanks to Mrs. DeRycke and to Birkey's for their work to promote safe driving near farm equipment!
