Morrison School Board Vacancy
As a result of the recent resignation of Board member Terri Wilkens, Morrison Community Unit School District Board of Education will be appointing a school district resident to fill a vacancy. The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment to the next Board election held in April of 2025. The appointment process will be completed before October 27, 2024.
At a minimum, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:
Be a United States citizen
Be a resident of Illinois and District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a registered voter
Not be a child sex offender
Not hold an incompatible public office
Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District
Not be a school trustee
Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. The Board’s policies are available at www.morrisonschools.org under the Board of Education Tab (Policy 2:20, Powers and duties of the School Board - Indemnification; 2:80, Board member Oath and Conduct; 2:100, Board Member Conflict of Interest; 2:105 Ethics and Gift Ban; and 2:120, Board member Development).
Completed applications may be turned in to the district office (100 East Knox Street, Morrison) by 4:00 p.m. on September 30, 2024.
Chosen candidates will be notified for closed session interviews with the Board of Education.

The Morrison Kiwanis Club and Key Club will hold their sixth Sandwich Sale of the year on Saturday, August 24 at Rt. 30 & Rt. 78/Cherry Street. Bring your Mustang-sized appetite for ribeyes, pork chops, brats, hot dogs, beverages, and snacks!

Caught Being Good- Today during lunch, Charlie noticed a few students left some wrappers and chip bags on some of the tables. She took it upon herself to go around and pick the trash up and throw it in the garbage. Charlie got to pick an item from the concession stand for being "Caught Being Good". Way to go Charlie!!


Kindness Club met for the first time today. Keep an eye out for some wonderful ways these 4th graders are spreading kindness throughout the school and community.
