MJHS is ready to get into the holiday spirit. Every year we decorate our foyer for the upcoming holidays. Mrs. Harmon and our Art Club students are kind enough to come in after school, before we leave for the Thanksgiving Break, and decorate. To get everyone involved we invite you to donate unwanted holiday decorations. We are looking for decorations from all faiths and religions. This year we are hoping to have a "Festival of Trees", but we need your help. If anyone has any unused artificial Christmas trees, lights, tinsel, ornaments, or any other holiday decorations they are no longer using or want, we would be happy to take them. Our goal is to have each homeroom (16 total) decorate a tree that will be placed in the foyer to create a winter wonderland. for all to enjoy. If you or someone you know has any of these things, please have them drop them off at MJHS or contact the school and we will arrange to pick them up.

Morrison High School would like to thank all those who participated in our Veterans Day Recognition Assembly on Friday, Nov. 12, including Morrison-area veterans; Morrison American Legion Post 328; Post 328 Commander Larry Zuidema; U.S. Marine Corps Colonel Jim Prombo (Ret.); active-duty military personnel; U.S. Army National Guard recruit Jake Andrews; and Ms. Carolyn Aiken. We also wish to recognize Morrison’s FFA chapter, advised by Mrs. Gabrielle McCormick, and Morrison’s Choir, taught by Mr. Dylan Hinrichs, for their work to recognize Morrison’s veterans before and during the assembly.

The Mustangs Baseball team would like to thank everyone who allowed us to help them with some yard work. Your support is truly appreciated. That was our final one this year but we will try to get out this spring again. See you then.

Congratulations to Morrison’s Fr/Soph Scholastic Bowl team on its first-place finish (among 14 teams) in the Moline High School Butterfield Memorial Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 13. Morrison won its four morning matches and qualified as one of the top four teams eligible to compete in the championship rounds. After defeating Fr/Soph teams from Moline HS and Macomb HS in the afternoon, Morrison finished the tournament with a 6-0 record. Morrison’s team for Saturday’s event consisted of Blaine Williams, Violet Mills, Dylan Anderson, and Hailey Freeman. The team’s first-place finish builds on its success on Saturday, Nov. 6, when it finished second (among nine teams) at the Morrison High School Fr/Soph “Cereal Bowl” Invitational Tournament.

Several members of Morrison School’s staff spent their Saturday becoming certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid with Cheryl Robinson and Maggie Wike!
Special thanks to NAMI of the Sauk Valley Area for sponsoring the event. We appreciated the opportunity to become more effective in supporting the mental health of the kids in our community❤️

To all veterans of all branches: Thank you for your sacrifice, your bravery, and the example you set for us all. In short, thank you for your service!
