Reminder- any incoming 6th grade student that is interested in band should come to the junior high tonight between 4pm and 7pm to try out different instruments. Please report to the band room right inside the front doors.
MJHS Open House is Thursday, August 12th. 6:00PM to 6:30PM is 6th grade orientation in the gymnasium. From 6:30-7:30 all students may come to drop off supplies, tour the building, meet teachers, and practice locker combinations. Please check your email for more information.

Backpack Night: Northside and Southside will be holding Backpack Night on Monday, August 16. Northside will be 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM and Southside will be 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Please bring your student's supplies and meet their teacher. See you then!
Below is the tentative "Return to Learning Plan" discussed at tonight's board meeting. A formal plan will be approved by the Board of Education prior to the start of school.
Due to mechanical issues at the High School, tonight’s Board of Education meeting will be in the Junior High library. Open session will start at 6:30 pm.
The MCUD #6 Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday July 26 at 6:30 pm in the High School Media Center. The meeting is open to the public, but anyone wishing to attend may view the meeting using the link below. Anyone wishing to speak at the meeting should notify the district office prior to the meeting.

Please note the following dates and times for the upcoming MJHS Girls Volleyball Season.
July 26th -July 29th - Open Gym for any 5th-8th grade girls interested in playing. This will be from 1PM to 3PM and is not mandatory. Girls who wish to go in and practice before the season begins may do so.
August 2nd - 5th and 6th Grade Girls Volleyball begins. Practices will be from 3:20PM until 5:00PM at MJHS.
August 9th - 7th and 8th Grade Girls Volleyball begins. Practices will be from 3:20PM until 5:00PM at MJHS.
All girls wishing to play must have a current physical on file with the junior high. Physicals can be brought the first day of practice or turned into the district office at MJHS. Physicals are available at the walk-in clinic at the Morrison Hospital for $25. All girls will also need to have a completed Waiver of Liability form filled out. These forms are available at MJHS between 7:30AM and 3:00PM daily. No student will be allowed to practice until both the physical form and the Waiver of Liability are completed and turned in.
An activity fee is due by the first game. Fees range fro $75 to $25 depending on your financial status. Waiver forms are available at MJHS. If you have questions please email Mr. Robbins at joe.robbins@morrisonschools.org.

Congratulations to Jordan, Emily, & Erica for all placing and earning points in the IHSA Sectional Track and Field meet in Rockridge. Jordan swept the sprints winning the 100m, 200m, & the 400m and will be competing at the IHSA Class 1A State meet on Thursday June 10th at Eastern Illinois University! Good Luck at State Jordan!

Another good showing at the IHSA State Track Meet Skyler Drolema earned an 8th place medal in the High Jump. Alex Anderson earned a 7th place medal in the 400 dash. Also Alex Anderson Justice Brainard, Skyler Drolema and Brady Wolf earn 4th place medals in the 4x400 relay. Great Job today gentlemen. Everyone is back for another year a fun and medals next year!!!
The boys track team is off to state. The group representing MHS is on their way to Eastern Illinois University for tomorrows meet. Skyler Drolema will be competing in the High Jump and 4x400 relay, Brady Wolf will be competing in the 300 hurdles and the 4x400, Justice Brainard will be competing in the 400 and 4x400 and Alex Anderson will be competing in the 100, 400, and 4x400. Also attending the meet will be the 4x400 alternates Chase Newman, Blake Adams, Mark Cypers, and Thomas Dauphin. Good Luck Gentlemen!!
